Interesting phrasing by Erik Spoelstra after Michael Beasley scored 23 points against the Lakers, with the first-year coach noting, "He just really needs to get bigger, not size wise, but play bigger and block out and really get on the glass and help us out." For all Beasley did with his 12 consecutive points in the fourth quarter Sunday, none of those points, beyond an alley-oop dunk, came in the paint. That needs to be the next step. Point guard continues as a position of concern. Mario Chalmers again is playing like a rookie. Sunday he was scoreless in nine minutes, with twice as many combined fouls and turnovers (four) as assists. As much as utilizing Dwyane Wade as the primary ballhandler allows for more minutes for Daequan Cook and even Beasley, Sunday's harassment from Kobe Bryant shows how much of a toll such an assignment can exact, with Wade 4 of 13 from the field in the second half.
