Giants president of baseball operations Farhan Zaidi seemed to confirm this on Sunday, saying "it's impossible to say" whether Bumgarner will be dealt. Bumgarner's limited no-trade clause is also a potential factor. One source told Buster Olney that he wouldn't be shocked if Bumgarner turned down a trade "just to continue to be part of something he loves for the rest of his deal," as Olney reported in an article for ESPN+ (subscription required) on Sunday. Of course, the left-hander can only block a move to eight teams -- reportedly the Braves, Red Sox, Cubs, Astros, Brewers, Yankees, Phillies and Cardinals. There's also an incentive for him to be traded, as it would make him ineligible to receive a qualifying offer.
