Team Netherlands had a surprisingly good run in the WBC, making it as far as the semifinals before losing to the Dominican, which went on to win the championship last night with a 3-0 victory over Puerto Rico. I’m not used to that. I played in the Futures Game last summer (in Kansas City), but it wasn’ t as noisy as this was. Especially when we were in Japan, and so many people coming to root for them. You’re up there with two strikes and everyone is, ‘Ahhhhhh!’ and you have to learn to concentrate. You have to learn to get into that environment.
