Cleveland had lost three in a row at Chicago over the week end, allowing 35 runs. ''That series was kind of a train wreck for us,'' Tomlin said. ''We wanted to get back here and get a win.'' Chris Perez, at odds with booing fans 10 days ago, got a standing ovation as he worked a perfect ninth for his 17th save. He walked, stole second and scored on Alcides Escobar's single to make it 6-5. Michael Brantley and Lopez had RBIs in the bottom half to make it 8-5. Adcock gave up four earned runs and six hits over 2 1-3 innings. After the game he was sent back to Triple-A Omaha for the third time since April 28.
