http://ppt.cc/g8~C Amid bullpen phone glitch, Maddon improvises MIAMI -- The Marlins were getting to James Shields in the seventh inning of Sunday's 4-2 Rays win when Tampa Bay manager Joe Maddon decided to make a call to the bullpen. Just one problem. When Maddon asked pitching coach Jim Hickey to make the call, Hickey could not reach the bullpen because the phone was dead "Hick's like, 'The phone's not working, Joe; what should I do?'" Maddon said. Maddon called timeout and informed the umpires of the situation. Meanwhile, Marlins manager Ozzie Guillen had some fun with the situation, motioning like he was disconnecting a cable. Maddon then employed utility infielder Will Rhymes as his attache to deliver a message to the bullpen that Jake McGee and Burke Badenhop should begin to get loose. "Yeah, he looked like the fastest," said Maddon of Rhymes. "The [starting] pitchers are so disinterested at that point. They've been eating food the whole game, so they're not really able to run down to the bullpen, like he did. Rhymsy was eager. The 'Radar O'Reilly' kind of a thing. He had that look in his eye, so I felt good about it." Rhymes delivered the message, and upon his return to the visitors' dugout, he received high-fives from his teammates. Maddon then enlisted the security guards to get him some walkie-talkies so he could stay in contact with the bullpen. "Eventually, they did," Maddon said. "I don't know if they understood the urgency in the beginning. Like, 'We'll get them for you.' It's not for the Red Sox series, the next day; we need them right now." McGee eventually got the call with one out, retiring the final two batters of the inning to prevent the two runners aboard from scoring. Shields smiled about the situation. "You know, those things happen sometimes," Shields said. "You know, new ballpark -- you get a few kinks here and there. Yesterday we had a blackout, and today we had some phone problems. They'll square all that stuff up." ============================================================================== 今日 TB @ MIA 第三戰當戰況來到七局下時有了一些變化當光芒先發 James Shields 連挨兩支 2B 掉一分的時候這時光芒教頭 Joe Maddon 想打電話到牛棚但是卻發現電話故障了這該怎麼辦呢 ?? 於是他跑上去跟主審請求個暫停並且知會對手馬大魚教頭 Ozzie Guillen 牛棚電話故障事宜主審同意了西瓜的請求給了光芒暫停的機會此時西瓜派遣內野手 Will Rhymes 跑去牛棚練習區傳話傳話給投手教練 Jim Hickey 請求牛棚裡兩位後援 Jake McGee 以及 Burke Bandehop 練投當 Rhymes 成功傳達到話語以後回去還接受了隊友的擊掌慶賀然後西瓜商請球場工作人員借幾台無線電對講機以便跟牛棚練習區溝通之後 Shields 投出 1BB 跟 1K 後西瓜決定換上 McGee 上來解決打者而他也不負眾望的連續解決兩位馬大魚的打者讓 Shields 安心了不少而最終光芒也以三戰全勝橫掃馬大魚贏得佛州柑橘內戰第一階段的勝利繼續在美東保持與洋基和金鳥的競爭狀態別質疑你的西瓜他總是會變出不少花樣給你 !! -- 有一次記者問洋基傳奇球星狄馬喬（Joseph Paul DiMaggio）︰「Mr. DiMaggio，你在大聯盟打了無數場比賽，為什麼每一場比賽都還要像菜鳥一般拚命呢？」狄馬喬這樣回答︰「因為我知道每一場比賽數萬名觀眾裡頭，一定會有哪個小孩是第一次來看我打球。」 -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc)
