During the operation of that drive, someone issued a command similar to
"smartctl -t offline /dev/sda" and then used
"smartctl -X /dev/sda" to abort the test before it was completed.
The status is recorded on the drive itself and read by smartctl to give you
the information.
(0x85) is the code stored on the drive and "Offline data collection...."
is what that code means.
