Allow me to answer this puzzling question in a necessarily subjective mode.
While passion refers to a sexual arousal, sexual desire signals a
manifest libido always already there. Furthermore, sexual desire is
not as much stimulated by a haunting fantasy urge as is passion.
A blurred distinction by an ordinary mind.
