To keep Antetokounmpo’s rights, the Knicks must extend him a required tender
– essentially a valid NBA contract – by Sept. 6. That can be a fully
unguaranteed one-year deal.
I don’t know what promises Antetokounmpo made (many second rounders agree to
play in the D-League or overseas before the draft, which increases the
likelihood of being selected) or what New York can do for him (many teams in
this position help their draft pick find work in exchange for him declining
the required tender). But if nothing is on the table for him, Antetokounmpo
should consider accepting the tender.

Sidigas Avellino has made an offer for New York Knicks draftee Thanasis
Antetokounmpo, according to sources, but to reach an agreement won't be
simple.
The Greek forward has received four offers from European teams and for now he
decided to freeze them. Before agreeing to one of this offers he wants to see
if there are chances to be included in Knicks' roster for next season.
Last season he averaged 12 points, 4.3 rebounds, 2.1 assist, 1.3 blocks and
1.2 steals per game in NBA D-League with Delaware 87ers.
