Pitcher Matt Clement said it's "more than likely" he will not return in
2005, even though the Cubs are the team the right-hander would most like
to pitch for.
He said the White Sox, among other teams, have contacted him, but the
Cleveland Indians have been the most aggressive in trying to sign the
30-year-old.
"They've been probably in the most contact with me so far from the get-go,"
Clement said of the Indians. "I'm going to go there in the next couple of
weeks to see them. The advantage they have for me is that it's less than a
two-hour drive from my home in (Butler) Pennsylvania."
Clement 提到目前最積極的是印地安人隊，幾個禮拜後他可能會來克里夫蘭。克里夫蘭
最大的優勢就是從他在賓州的家到這裡開車只要兩小時。
不過Kris Benson 拿到一張三年合計 23M的約，真不曉得 Clement要多少才簽的下來。

很顯然，印地安人隊還不打算放棄他，認為把他從三壘轉到外野去有助於減少他的負
擔。不過 Smith不這麼想。
"Smith insists he doesn't think a change of positions will free up his mind
or help him do anything different."
除了在佛州的訓練基地接受訓練之外球隊也希望他去打冬季聯盟，不過Smith 沒去，
他的理由是：
"I wanted to go, And I was ready to go. But the truth is I just ran out of
gas. I was just plain tired."
真不知道他在想什麼。
文章的最後一句話不知道他是真心的還是說表面話：
"I believe I can play third base, and that's the same thing I told John
Farrell, But that decision is not mine to make. The best thing to do is
have the right attitude and not fight it."
其他球員異動：
球隊執行了Scott Sauerbeck 2005年的選擇權，詳細薪資未知。
同時簽回了外野手Ernie Young，給他一張小聯盟合約。
另外也和游擊手Jose Morban以及右投手Steve Watkins簽小聯盟約。

Morban在2002年規則五選秀上被金鶯隊從遊騎兵那邊挑走，2003年整個球季都待在大
