Teller建議楊延伸其博士論文，以包括OOO的情況（不要問本魯是什麼）。 A few days later, Yang reappeared with an additional four sheets of paper. It was more than double its original length and it was very good. 幾天後，楊加了四頁，這已經超過原本的長度的兩倍了，而且寫得很好。 But Teller was still nervous and told him that the University of Chicago normally required a thesis longer than seven pages. 但Teller仍然焦慮，並告訴楊，芝加哥大學正常來說要超過七頁的博論。 A few weeks passed, and Yang produced eleven pages.
