He said that after several days Chinese soldiers from an outlying fort deployed through the streets killing hundreds with machine-guns and rifles and raping and looting. The foreigners' stories are fully supported by reports of every important foreign embassy or legation in Nanking. 外國的目擊證人表示，飛機灑下一張由蔣介石簽名，保證寬大，力勸所有在逃難的人返回家園的傳單，結果許多人回家後遭到逮捕與槍決。一位外籍人士補充，看來蔣介石的政策是打算殺害所有台灣人的菁英，這些外籍人士的故事得到所有重要外國使館與南京官方的證實。 Formosans are reported to be seeking United Nations' action on their case. Some have approached foreign consuls to ask that Formosa be put under the jurisdiction of Allied Supreme Command or be made an American protectorate. Formosan hostility to the mainland Chinese has deepened.
