Google parent Alphabet Inc. GOOG, -1.83% GOOGL, -1.81% introduced the world to its robot named Atlas last year, and its most recent iteration of the two-legged automaton is lighter, faster and freakier. The 5-foot-9-inch robot, created by Alphabet’s Boston Dynamics, is about 5 inches shorter than its predecessor and 120 pounds lighter. In addition to withstanding bumps and getting up after being pushed over, the bipedal robot can pick up 10-pound boxes and push open doors.
