Reading: Understanding Implicit Meaning
Questions of this type test the ability to infer what is
implied or suggested in a passage, as opposed to what is
explicitly stated there. This is a vital reading skill, especially
for graduate students who encounter texts that first provide
information and then build on it to make larger arguments.
Such texts are usually very economical in their presentation--they
avoid repetition by relying on indirect or implied references
to information that has already been presented explicitly at
earlier points. Understanding such texts necessarily involves
making inferences about how explicit information in various parts
of the text works together to convey ideas that are only implied.

意思就是可以從文章中推論出作者沒明講的論證。
通常題目會長這樣：
It can be inferred that the author of the passage
considers (supports)....
反正就是作者暗示了什麼？你要靠推論找出答案。
Reading: Understanding Explicit Meaning
Questions of this type test the ability to locate and understand
a specific piece or pieces of information explicitly stated in a
reading passage. This skill is valuable whenever you are reading
something primarily to find an answer to a specific limited
question, or when you are trying to find specific information that
you know is contained in a source you have already read.

可以直接從文章中找到、作者明白寫出來的想法。
通常題目長這樣：
According to the passage, the OOXX is AABB because it......
OOXX is AABB可以在文章中直接找到，連字都沒怎麼換，
而這個it後面接的內容多半文章的內容會找得到答案。
這應該是閱讀測驗中最好把握、可以從上下文直接抓出答案的題目了。
Organization and Argument
Some of the questions within this skill category test the ability
to identify the primary purpose of a reading selection. This skill
is important in allowing you to understand the broad implications
of a reading selection--that is, to gain an understanding beyond
simply retaining individual pieces of information contained in the
reading.
In order to determine the primary purpose, you must decide how the
various pieces of information presented in the reading function
together to serve an overall purpose. A good strategy with shorter
selections is to determine the function of each sentence in the
passage before trying to determine the overall purpose of the
passage. With longer selections, such as this one, it is more
efficient to do this for paragraphs than sentences.
我的理解是綜合性地去裡講這一整段文章的主旨。EST提供的解題策略是
先試著去理解每一個句子的功能是什麼？他們串起來後可以撐起怎樣的
目的（這個就是primary purpose了）。如果是長篇閱讀，比較有效的策略
是理解每個段落的目的而非每個句子。
題目會長這樣：
The author of the passage is primarily concerned with......
答案通常不太會是explicit，要靠推理。
