這一次延續上次講的logical expression，
想分享一下自己所觀察到的，英文的「順暢性」是什麼。
當講到「句子流暢」時，不是native speaker通常不知所以然，
除非寫得很誇張，不然大部分的華人考生仍然不易分辨。
其實隱藏在背後唯一的大原則就是：
詞組不能被分隔到無法讓人讀出完整的意思。
所謂詞組，就是好幾個單字結合在一起，表達出特定的意思。
比如說慣用詞組（idiom）put off、 take off跟put up、take easy
就都代表著不一樣的意思。
片語（phrase）after 1960、in Canada
或者像sth. is fun/cool，peter crys這種（S+beV+Adj）（S+V）
也算是一組表達完整意思的詞語。
盡量避免在之中插入長的成分，而使得兩者拆開。
這也就是倒裝、虛主詞等文法出現的原因。
1. 慣用詞組不能被拆太開：
He thinks the task difficult. 中間夾的詞短，但
He thinks doing the right thing in exactly the right time and right place
with right people difficult.
人家讀到difficult早就忘了是跟think放在一起了，當然讀不到think difficult 的意思
因此，若中間的詞太長，就會傾向改成用虛主詞放在中間：
He thinks it difficult to do the right thing in exactly the right time
and right place with right people.
自己讀讀看，就會知道哪一句話比較順。
2. 片語不能被拆太開：
若是要將Recently, many foreign technicians move to Singapore.
跟The government in Singapore welcome s talented people worldwide
用關代which合併，
Recently, many foreign technicians move to Singapore, which the government
in welcomes talented people worldwide.
in 是在 in 什麼的，聽者不易理解。所以不管是書寫上或者口語上，
都會習慣把in調到which 前面結合，成為in which=in Canada，如下句：
Recently, many foreign technicians move to Singapore, in which the government
welcomes talented people worldwide.
3. S+V/S+beV+adj 不能被拆太開：
Learning English is fun.這句用動名詞當主詞，因為詞語短，所以不會影響到理解。
但是若是
Gaining comparative advantage in the fiercely competitive
global market in 21st century with traditional management is impossible.
這句呢？是不是唸到後面就發現主詞的核心動詞gain跟impossible被拆得太遠了？
是不是改成
It is impossible to gain comparative advantage in the fiercely
competitive global market in 21st century with traditional management.
比較好？
倒裝、虛主詞這些文法上的用法，並不是用來聯考寫作文變換句型加分的。
沒有必要用到倒裝虛主詞的時候（比如中間插入成分太短，不會把詞語拆得太開）
就沒有必要硬用倒裝，否則也是非流暢表達。
要記住，文法都是從生活中的表達方便的前提下發展而來的，
而不應該只當成技巧規則硬背。
希望能幫助到各位在選SC考慮結構時，如何判斷哪種結構稱得上「流暢」。
