Weaken題重點在先抓出所謂的the argument, 也就是推論點. 以上劃底線部分就是整個題
幹的the argument, 不過這裡的推論關係應該是:
a new store has opened(事實) --those locations will not stay vacant(推論)
這裡的意思是new store會填補nondiscount stores關閉的空缺
答案: Increasingly, the stores that have opened in the central shopping
district since Colson's opened have been discount stores.
這裡的意思是若new store是discount stores, 則會面臨SpendLess discount department
store競爭而關閉,所以推論句those locations 就會 stay vacant for long, 直接weaken
