Akshaya Thrithiya節的黃金需求應該是最近幾年印度珠寶商成功的行銷所致。
It is believed that if a person purchases a small amount of gold (at least 1
gm), wears it at an auspicious time after keeping it in the pooja room, will
accumulate more round the year. Wealth will increase in homes where rupees
and coins are kept for pooja and worshipped as Goddess Lakshmi.

根據統計，印度有十一億人，其中八成信仰印度教，也就是8.8億人。假如有1％的印
度教徒相信上面的「神話」，就有880萬人至少買一公克的黃金，也就是至少買了8.8公噸
的黃金（全球央行黃金儲備可以排第64名）。

商機有多大？2007年的Akshaya Thrithiya節是星期五，印度第二大銀行，也是最大
的民營商業銀行ICICI Bank，當天只賣金幣，不做其他銀行業務（也就是存錢、領錢請改
天再來）。
