     This implementation of gzip was ported based on the NetBSD gzip 20060927,
     and first appeared in FreeBSD 7.0.

however, this is 6.2-STABLE, and if there ever will be 6.3-RELEASE it won't be appropriate. i'd suggest changing the first appearance version according to this
