Note that "grep ^: *" in /etc/rc.d finds nothing. Also note that _some_ rc.d variables can be sensitive to this issue. However, /etc/rc.subr doesn't tell unset state from null state for those variables that don't need to be sensitive. Would you mind moving this thread to freebsd-rc?
