I don't test one your very recent commit yet, but whole previous commits
chain case dhclient broken:

Starting dhclient.
em0: no link ...... got link
em0: not found
exiting.
/etc/rc.d/dhclient: WARNING: failed to start dhclient

and a bit later in rc

Starting dhclient.
em0: not found
exiting.
/etc/rc.d/dhclient: WARNING: failed to start dhclient
