Neither the unit number or the if_index of an interface effects its order in getifaddrs() output. With modern bus hierarchies, you probably don't want to use the unit anyway as it loses too much information. Some along the lines of Fedora's Consistent Network Device Naming would likely be more useful. That would be fairly easy to implement. -- Brooks --L1c6L/cjZjI9d0Eq Content-Type: application/pgp-signature -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.11 (FreeBSD) iD8DBQFRbZoiXY6L6fI4GtQRAnuJAJ9AU4LWOJ9Fx2XcFfXr3O6VznsC3ACdHU8N z43Dv00XJBwtbzvt8wohuyQ= =hIjv -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --L1c6L/cjZjI9d0Eq--
