I added this to the post-patch target of the Makefile

@${REINPLACE_CMD} -e 's/UTF-8\\n/UTF-8/gI' ${WRKSRC}/po/*.po

This makes the port build properly. It replaces all occurrences of "UTF-8\n" with "UTF-8"
