歐冠會外賽有很多輪
目前（根據維基百科）有四個 qualifying rounds 和一個 playoff round
英超第四名是直接參加 playoff round 的其中一個 section
會和西甲和義甲第四、德甲和法甲第三, 以及五支從 3rd QR 晉級的球隊爭奪五個席位
近幾年英超在會外賽的表現...
2010 Tottemham Hotspur 八強
2009 Arsenal 八強
2008 Arsenal 四強 (這屆之前英超第三第四都要打 3rd QR)
Liverpool 八強
2007 Arsenal 八強
Liverpool 四強
2006 Arsenal 十六強
Liverpool 四強
2005 之前的制度又不一樣, 就不列了
那年英超有三支球隊打 3rd QF, 曼聯和利物浦晉級, 艾弗頓被淘汰
