Why not? I think you just want to watch TV.
If you use subtitles, it really helps you to understand the meanings.
I used to use subtitles very often. Sometimes when you hear a word, you
don't know how do you spell it. Sometimes, you also can close subtiltles as well.
Relax! Just like when you watch chinese TV.
Don't push yourself too hard, or it won't work.
