[Talk] Seinfeld
The show Seinfeld is by far the funniest comedy to date, in my opinion.
I've always wondered why this comedy is otherwise little known in taiwan.
Most of my taiwanese friends follow other mainstream sitcoms, like sex and
the city, or friends, but never heard of seinfeld. Personally I like comedies
that reflect real live more closely. SATC to me is just unrealistic in so many
ways. I mean com'on, who could afford that kind of luscious lifestyle? well
paris hilton maybe, but even her doens't seem to have wardrobe the size of
carrie's. Anyway, let's hope there is no more sequels of SATC movies. the way
they look now, we could as well call it grandma and the city, not even
hollywood cgi can save them.
let's move on to "friends". Now that it's been over 6 years after the finale,
do people still think they are funny? "how YOU doing", that's probably the
most annoying tv quote of all time. That makes "we were on a BREAK!" a close
second.Not to mention there are so many ripoffs from Seinfeld. To name a few,
the woman with weird laughter (one of seinfeld's gf), the disgusting naked guy
,the hangout in central perk(Monk's in seinfeld). Seinfeld is a show about
nothing, the everyday life of 4, if I may say, losers friends. Friends is
basically same setup, minus the funniness, plus the soap opera. Seinfeld
may have about 10 not so funny episodes, in the span of 9 seasons. Friends
jumped the shark and never recover, after the second breakup of Ruth-Rachel.
It's dragging so long that by the time they finally are going to be together,
which is in the freaking fanale, you really don't give a flying crap.
Enough of my rant. I don't mean to degrade any fans here though. It's just
my personal preferece, and I watched them all. well, the rerun of seinfeld
is on channel 2 now, and I'll have to stop here. talk to you later, peace.
