Francis Bacon, one of the greatest essayist ever,
has brilliantly talked about death:
"Men fear death, as children fear to go in the dark;
and as that natural fear in children is increased with tales,
so is the other."
His definition or description as such wins my admiration as well as agreement.
We keep sleeping with or without dream, and waking up all the same.
Never clear, at best premonitory, is the advent of it, much less
our fitting greetings.
