Maybe you can try to set up a big picture for your degree program.
Even though degree is usually regarded as first priority to Taiwan students,
you would be more motivated to do the research at your hand when you know
what you are doing and what good things the research will bring to the world.
Sounds like self-suggestion, huh? :P
