That thing's still hanging over
I just saw a question over the Eng-Class board
about the usage of "rather".
And I cannot help but trying, again as usual, to figure about
whether it is used in the context of comparative sense or just
it does not matter anyway.
The reason for my agonizing over this conundrum is partly "rather"
often goes with "than", but the online Webster dictionary says "rather"
is an adverb.
If I should check it in the grammar textbook ?
Anyway I have not made out a way to approach it yet.
