(Mathematics is always the fact) 5乘以10是50 (數學本身就是事實, 除非是在說某個定論不再是事實因為是錯的) Einstein proposed a famous equation that is "The E is equal to the product of the M and the square of the C". 愛因斯坦提出了著名的式子那就是 E=MC^2, 除非有人證明這是徹底錯誤的 Before the discovery of the electron, the atom was the basic unit. 在還沒發現電子之前原子(過去)是基本單位所以原子(現在)是基本單位嗎? 這不是事實了, 不可能會用現在式is去敘述 atom We just received your mail half hour ago. "收到一封郵件"是一個過去的動作(已經發生了) The mail system blocked your mail becuse it has an unsecured attachment. 擋郵件是一個過去的動作(已經發生了) 原因是裡頭有個未加密的附件, 這個原因是"事實" 如果你去喪事(mourning) 你要用過去式...去形容那個往生的人如果你用現在式弔念死掉的人, 其他人就會瞪你, 然後就會發生很可怕的事情...
