[請益] 幾個問題請教

引自中國郵報，是關於宮崎駿即將退休的文章，
閱讀過程中有幾個問題想請教：
1. 第二段的Miyazaki is one of animation's most admired and successful directors.
為什麼animation's的前面沒有the？在網路上搜尋到可能的解釋是，「形容詞最高級前
有序數詞、物主代詞、指示代詞或名詞所有格等限定詞修飾時,最高級前不用the」，
但是並不是很具說服力，希望尋求板上高手的解答。
2. 第五段 The co-founder of Studio Ghibli, who won an Oscar in 2003 for his
masterful, disturbing critique of modern industrialism in “Spirited Away,”
said he hopes to work for another decade, but at a slower pace that might
allow him to perhaps even take Saturdays off.
想請問何謂disturbing critique？以及at a slower pace這裡，slower為什麼要用
比較級(看不出與何相比)？後頭的that子句指的是pace嗎？
