[請益] 關於一個英文句子的問題
有個英語教材的翻譯，遇到一句話感覺有點奇怪想請益一下。原文是這樣子的「One of
the world's most popular foods along with the amburger, fried chicken,
and milk shakes is pizza. Although the origin of the first three foods is well
understood, that of pizza- until recently, anyway -was for a long time an
international controversy.」
"Although the origin of the first three foods is well understood, that of
pizza- until recently, anyway -was for a long time an international
controversy."這句話我有兩個疑問，教材的中譯是"披薩的起源長久以來在國際之間一
直引發爭議，直到最近才罷休"。
我的疑問是：首先，並沒有把 anyway在翻譯中特別強調中文意思，
那麼 anyway在此句主要功用是強調"過去披薩起源引發國際性爭議"-"直到最近"，
讓兩個概念讀起來有起承轉合的通順感覺嗎?
另外，這句話中文意思說關於披薩起源的國際性爭議到最近就結束了，
可是文法書上說until用法，若是持續到什麼時間就結束了，前面修飾的句子開頭應該用
否定的not形式，所以我覺得奇怪，"that of pizza- until recently, anyway
-was for a long time an international controversy."為什麼不是指披薩的起源
一直具有國際性爭議，一直到最近還是有爭議性？是因為"until recently"所修飾
的"was for a long time an international
controversy" 中的was是過去式，陳述的是過去的事情，而非現在的狀況，
所以教材翻譯成"披薩的起源長久以來在國際之間一直引發爭議，直到最近才罷休"，
不知我的理解對不對?
