The following sentences are from the novel, Miranet, describing a Sudanese girl's story: The sentence I mark ## ## is what I am comfused by its meaning and grammar. * He had a military trial; they passed a harsh sentence. ## It needn't have been like that.## * ## I need not have phoned her after all. ## * I made some comments. The use of the instead of a, minor spelling. 'I don't think you can say, "That was the reason for the failure for ## which ##" * It shrinks me like it shrinks him. I wish it would pirify him, wring him and bring him back to me ## restored ##. Thank in advance for any further explanation and helping. -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 114.42.86.125
