The therapeutic effect of acupuncture treatment is normally assessed by
using a questionnaire survey. However, the objectivity of the survey's
conclusion is often questionable because the surveys only consider patients'
subjective responses.
To avoid drawing biased survey conclusions, we proposed a new
strategy in which, apart from the subjective questionnaires, objective
clinical measures are involved to assess the therapeutic
consequence of a medical treatment. The strategy facilitates personalized
medical practices, and also encourages patients' participation
in the decision-making process.
