1. I like X the best.
我最喜愛 X［事物］。
e.g. I like Jazz the best.
我最喜愛爵士樂。
2. the+superlative
例： Adjective 形容詞 e.g. Good
Superative 最高級 Best
You always use 'the' with superlatives.
Naturally, there is only one thing which is of the superlative
quality.
--> It was the best of times, it was the worst of times.
(Charles Dickens, Tale of two cities, Ch. 1)
Another example:
--> He is my good friend. He is a good friend of mine.
--> He is my best friend. He is the best friend of mine.
3. Transformation
consider a similar phrase --> It is a dog.
What is it? <--> It is a dog. <--> A dog is what it is.
What do I like the best? <--> I like Jazz the best.
<--> Jazz is what I like the best.
