[請益] 請教一個句子-from CNN
想請問一個有關分詞構句的問題~ 因為教科書上都說分詞構句中，前後主詞需一致。
但似乎常在閱讀中看到不一致的現象，例如以下這句:
These Iron gates are believed to be from the time of King David—1000 years
before Christ ministered here—establishing a direct line between Old and New
Testaments and evidence of how 200 years later the city was destroyed by the
king of Assyria, rampaging through the region and reducing it to blackened
rubble.
一開始的主詞是 The Iron gates，該句用了分詞構句 [establishing a diriect.....]
這裡還OK, 但接下來句子繼續到 evidence of how 200 years later the city was
destroyed by the king of Assyria, rampaging through the region and reducing it
to blackened rubbles.
這裡的分詞構句 [rampaging ...and reducing] 很明顯是以 king of Assyria 作為主詞
，但前主要子句的主詞是 the city 不是嗎?
為什麼主詞沒有前後一致?
因為還蠻常看到這種情況的，想請問是不是教科書上寫的 [前後主詞一致] 並不一定是那
麼死的規則呢?
