我跑去問了旋元佑文法的旋老師，

「選項 ever 不對，因為意思不通。
選項 to 文法亦通，只是稍嫌重複。
選項 thus 邏輯通，又不重複，是相對較好的答案」

我自己目前的理解是，thus在這裡不是因果關係的用法，是單純舉例(as an example)
如:The judge expressed it thus: “Our obligation is to discover the truth.”
