---Spoiler Alert--- The following words are my thoughts and reflection after watching the movie- Blade Runer 2049. If you have not watched it or you do not wanna know any details or info about the film, please don't read the lines below. ---Spoiler Alert--- Today, I watched Blade Runner 2049, the sequel to the 1982 movie. Just like Blade Runner, this film begins with the image of "eyes", which I has not figured out the meaning yet. Then, we get to know that the Tyrell corp no longer exists; now, it's a man named Wallace to produce the androids, and the type is Nexus 8. Then, we see a guy who is apparently a police officer named K drives his hover car to the farm of Morton. (Batista!!!!XD) They have a fight, and finally K "retires" Morton. If you've watched the 1982 movie, you'll know that retire is the euphemism for kill in this film series and the original novel respectively. Before shot by K, Morton says "You've never seen a miracle." Well, what's the miracle? I dunno the answer at that moment of course. After that, K's supervisor sends a team to dig the box under the tree. In this film, we don't have V.K. test anymore. Instead, it's called "the baseline test" if my memory does not fail me. Another intriguing part is K seems to have a special relationship with Joi, which is a projected woman. When I was watching this part, I was kinda speechless actually because I think that a little bit weird. K is assigned to investigate who is the offspring of Deckard and Rachel. Meanwhile, he shares his memory with his boss that in his younger years a group of boys tried to take his wooden horse away, and beat him. At this moment, he considers those memories implants. Neverthelss, after he meets the memory designer, Ana, who proves that the memory is not false, he suffers from a mental breakdown on the grounds that he finds out he is a real person who has invariably treated as a "slave." The reason why I use the word slave is that those androids are not treated properly. They call K "skinner." Also, don't forget when Deckard fought with Roy Baty, the latter said " That's how it is to be a slave." I do empathize with him upon seeing this scene. Then after he becomes a run-away slave, he meets Deckard, and everything is revealed. He is not Deckard's son, and "the boy is the one who lives" is another trick to protect the child of Deckard and Rachel- Ana. Truth is always bitter. It's another heart-breaking moment in the movie. K lives in the vision of it, and then is disillusioned deeply by what never belongs to him. After Rick is caught by the "angel" of Wallace (Well, that's how he calls her), Wallace is eager to know where is the kid. He even re-manufactures a Rachel for Deckard while the former blade runner argues that "her eyes shall be green." Undoubtedly, we see the sorrow in Deckard of losing the love of his life. Nonetheless, Wallace proposes an idea that the affection between Rick and Rachel is just mathematical precision. In other words, they are made to love each other with a view to having the most perfect androids. In the 1982 version, Gaff knows about Rick's dream of the unicorn. So, probably, Rick Deckard is really an android. This reiterates the question- does androids have their own feelings? Does they empathize or love? Well, as Luv destroys the disk of Zoi, we see how desperate Joe (that how Zoi calls K) is. The binary system no longer works well anymore. In actuality, in the 1982 film we know those andys do have emotions. For instance, Roy mourns for the death of Pris, and that he spares the life of Deckard prior to his impending death. Not to mention that eventually, Joe saves Deckard, and brings him to Ana. All these are the evidence that humanoids are in some way like humans. All in all, I consider it to be a good moive although I do fall asleep in the middle 'cause it's too long. I think I gotta spend much time finding out the answers to lots questions that lie in this film. -- "All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain.
