HEADS UP - Major network changes going in, HEAD instability
A ton of networking MP work is going in and HEAD is guaranteed to
be unstable for the next few days.
We may have to delay the release by ~2 weeks or so due to these
changes. What began as a fix for some TCP corruption turned into
some major MPSAFE work. It turns out that portions of the networking
path which relied on the giant lock can no longer do so because so
much of the networking path no longer uses giant. And with this set
of patches virtually none of the networking path will use giant.
