What version are you looking at? http://gitweb.dragonflybsd.org/dragonfly.git/blob/HEAD:/sys/cpu/i386/misc/lwbuf.c Latest doesn't sleep at all, it relies entirely on objcache, which may sleep internally since objcache_get is being called with M_WAITOK.
