Benfica also have a young brazilian player on loan from Chelsea called
Alcides who was progressing very well until he picked up an injury in the
CL. He's got loads of pace and has performed competently both as a CB and
as a rightback.

I'm not sure Ove. I think he has another 2 years. In an interview last
week he said he watches all of Chelsea's matches because he knows that JM
might bring him in sooner rather than later. He's still very green but has
lots of potential and is quite skillful for a CB.

AB - Alcides [19 year old brazilian centre back] plays for Benfica on loan
from Chelsea. Can he move to London next season?
JM - It is difficult for him to play for Chelsea on the near future. If he
is happy at Benfica and Benfice are happy with him, then he may very
well continue there. He was a player of the club when I arrived and
then this possibility came up, but it very difficult for him to
integrate the team next season also because he hasn't had a very
consistent season due to the very serious injury he suffered [started
the season with torn ligaments in the knee].
