DALLAS, Texas -- It isn't listed on the official NBA calendar, but Dec. 15 sort of serves as the unofficial beginning of trade season. That is the day players who were drafted or signed as free agents last summer become eligible to be traded. It coincides with the point in the season when general managers begin to make decisions about their rosters . Then the normal flow is the dialogue picks up across the league to see who is available. Murphy is averaging 13 points and nine rebounds this season and the 6-11 big man is a career 40 percent 3- point shooter.
