Wang, the Nationals right-hander who hasn't pitched in the big leagues since July 4, 2009, with Yankees, fired six shutout frames in front of the third-largest crowd in Metro Bank Park history. The highly anticipated Cowboy Monkey Rodeo helped draw 7,911, a figure that's been bested just twice – the July 4th debut of Bryce Harper earlier this month, and last year's EL All-Star Game. TURNING POINT Tim Pahuta clubbed his seventh homer to lead off the second against Aeros LHP Matt Packer (3-9), and Chris Rahl contributed an RBI triple in the third and an RBI double in the eighth to account for the Senators' scoring. NOTES & NUMBERS Wang (2-0), who threw five shutout frames last week for Harrisburg, scattered six hits and didn't walk a batter. He struck out one. … Rafael Martin relieved Cory VanAllen in the eighth and retired the final four outs for his fourth save. … Rahl (2-for-4) also misplayed a Chun Chen double in the eighth that led to Akron's only run. Joked skipper Tony Beasley of Rahl just missing a makeable catch: “There was a ghost out there in right-center field, and it must have called his name.” … All-stars Tyler Moore, Bill Rhinehart and Archie Gilbert were given the night off after returning from Manchester, N.H., Thursday afternoon. … Akron managed just the one run despite collecting six doubles, two by Beau Mills. … Earlier Thursday, Brad Peacock was officially promoted to Class AAA Syracuse, Harper and LHP Oliver Perez were activated from the temporarily inactive list, and OF Jonathan Tucker (knee) was placed on the disabled list. … Josh Johnson made the first start of his career in center field, although he played there earlier this month after an in-game position swap.
