Carl Jenkinson has revealed the story behind his message to his grandfather
at Armoury Square.

The right back hails from a family of lifelong Arsenal fans, and completed a
dream move to the Club from Charlton Athletic in July 2011.
這名右後衛來自一個鐵杆槍迷家庭，在2011年7月美夢成真，從查爾頓轉會阿森納。
However, his grandfather was not able to see him play in the famous
red-and-white shirt, so he decided to leave the engraved message instead.

“I just wanted something for my grandad,” Jenkinson told Arsenal Player. “
It has always been a bit of a regret that he has not been able to come to my
games since I’ve been at Arsenal.

遺憾。」
“It is well documented that my dad is a massive Arsenal fan but grandad was
just the same, and I was very close to him.

“It's a regret that he has not been able to watch me, but I am sure he is
looking down at how things are going for me and the fact I’m playing for
Arsenal.”
「遺憾的是他不能來看我，但我確定他在天上看到了我身上發生的事，知道我現在為
阿森納踢球。」
Jenkinson’s message lies among hundreds of others at Armoury Square and he
feels an strong affinity with the Club’s fans.
詹金森的留言跟其他幾百個槍迷留言一起躺在兵工廠廣場，他感到自己與其他槍迷間有
一種深厚的連結。
“I am a fan of this Club and that will never change,” he said. “I am just
lucky enough to have been given the ability and the chance to play for my
club.
「我是這間俱樂部的球迷，這點永遠不會改變。我只是夠幸運，有這個能力與機會來為
我鍾愛的俱樂部踢球。」
“I was going to watch Arsenal the same as the fans were and [now] just count
myself very lucky to represent them as a fan who has become a player.
「我以前就和其他槍迷一樣地看俱樂部比賽，而現在我想我非常幸運，能成為他們在俱樂
部裡的代表，從球迷晉升為球員。」
“It doesn't come around very often and I just feel privileged and honoured
to be that person.”
