Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the School of
Computing at the University of Dundee.
Charting the Digital Lifespan is a two-year interdisciplinary research
project, funded by the EPSRC, investigating the ‘digital lifespan’ of UK
citizens both now and in the future. Since no one has yet experienced the
challenges of living a complete lifespan in the Digital Age (i.e., from
birth to old age), this project calls for an innovative approach to
understanding current experiences and envisioning future worlds. The
Research Fellow will provide core expertise to this project, creating and
developing an ethnographic understanding of how the human lifespan is
currently manifested in the digital age. Based at the University of Dundee,
they will work with a research team of experts in socio-digital systems,
design, narrative and data mining. Further details about the project can be

Essential requirements
PhD related to Human-Computer Interaction, Digital Anthropology,
Socio-Digital Systems or Ethnography. We also welcome applications from
candidates with a PhD in Anthropology, Sociology or Psychology, who have
demonstrable expertise in researching digital culture within their fields.
Demonstrable skills in:
* User-centred research methods ( e.g. interviews, focus groups,
observation, surveys)
* Recruiting and engaging with diverse participants
* Interdisciplinary research
* Working with people from different disciplines
* Writing high-quality research papers
* Excellent time management
* Use of Qualitative Analysis software tools
* Audio and video editing and transcription
