[那個]Elias Says...
因為昨天的外電都引用了The Elias Sports Bureau 的資料
來報導AROD的開季幾場比賽打幾支全壘打的成績
所以我就查一下 ESB 是什麼
然後查到這個網站
http://www.esb.com/

Alex Rodriguez encored his Saturday heroics with a first-inning
home run on the first delivery he saw from Erik Bedard. Last season,
five players homered in their first plate appearance following a
walk-off home run (after no player had done it in either 2004 or 2005).
Two of them, like A-Rod, did it on the first pitch: Carlos Beltran and
Carlos Guillen.

‧ Alex Rodriguez was indeed the alpha and the omega -- a more classical
way of saying that he was the straw that stirred the drink -- in the
Yankees' 10-7 win over the Orioles. He hit a two-run homer off Steve
Trachsel in the first inning, and belted a game-winning grand-slam
homer with two outs and two strikes in the ninth off Chris Ray.
This was only the third time in major league history that a player
had hit a first-inning homer and a walkoff grand-slam homer in the
same game -- and while all other players in major league history have
combined to do that just once, A-Rod has done it twice! (The only other
player to do that in a major league game wasn't Ruth or Gehrig, Aaron
or Mays, Bonds or Jeter; it was Jack Hiatt of the Giants in a 1969 game
against the Astros.)
‧ A-Rod's game-winning grand-slam home run on Saturday was the third
walkoff slam of his major league career, tying the all-time record
shared by a pair of long-ago sluggers, Cy Williams and Vern Stephens.
Williams, an outfielder who played for the Cubs and Phillies, hit 251
home runs in a 19-year career from 1912 to 1930. Stephens, a shortstop
with the St. Louis Browns, Red Sox, White Sox and Orioles, hit 247
homers over 15 years from 1941 to 1955.
Rodriguez's two other walkoff slams came while he played for the
Rangers: he victimized Oakland's Billy Koch in 2002 and Boston's Todd
Jones the following year.
Only two other players in Yankees history have hit game-winning
grand-slam homers that turned a deficit into a victory. Babe Ruth did it
against the White Sox in 1925 and Jason Giambi did it against the Twins
in 2002.

Alex Rodriguez hit his sixth home run of the season in the Yankees
seventh game on Tuesday. He's the ninth player in major league history,
and only the second in American League history with six home runs in the
first seven games of a season. Ken Griffey Jr. was the other junior
circuit player to do it, with six homers in the first seven games for
the 1997 Mariners.
Of the nine players with at least six home runs in the first games of
the season, only Rodriguez had as many as 15 RBIs.
