It’s your freedom that will get you to where you want to go. Blind faith in an over-subscribed, vainglorious myth will only hinder you.
(唯有自由能夠帶你抵達目的地；迷信某個信徒眾多的虛假神話，只會阻礙你前進。)

Never compare your inside with somebody else’s outside.
(別拿自己的內在跟別人的外在相比。)

Writer's block is just a symptom of feeling like you have nothing to say, combined with the rather weird idea that you should feel the need to say something.
(你也不應該太擔心「作家瓶頸」或「藝術家瓶頸」之類的東西。如果你盯著白紙，腦子一片空白，那就去做點別的事。作家瓶頸只不過是一種覺得「無話可說」，卻又莫名其妙認為自己「應該」說些什麼的症狀。)
Why? If you have something to say, then say it. If not, enjoy the silence while it lasts. The noise will return soon enough.In the meantime, you are better off going out into the big, wide world, having some adventures and refilling your well. Trying to create when you don't feel like it is like making conversation for the sake of making conversation.
(何苦呢? 假如有話要說，那說吧! 假如無話可說，就趁著還能沉默的時候好好享受寧靜。噪音很快就會回來。
在此同時，勸你敞開心胸，走向外頭寬廣的世界，多些生活體驗，注滿你的心靈之泉。盡量別在「只是為了說話而說話」的時候創作，那只會讓你像個醉話連篇的酒吧常客，不可能和別人有什麼交流。)
