[選]試 譯 文：Learning to learn: A complex system perspective
Framing learning to learn as a core process in a complex, dynamic system
allows us to explore patterns and relationships in the contextual factors
that we know influence the capability of the individual to become an
effective learner and respond profitable to change and challenge. These
factors are both internal to the learner and external in the social context
of the learning community. Increasingly that social context in both virtual
and embodied. Complexity, rather than a reductionist focus on one aspect of
learning to learn, more readily reflects the reality of learners, classrooms,
schools, and communities, even though by definition it is harder to measure,
describe, and predict. From a systems perspective, leaning to learn can be
understood as an emergent property of a social journey from purpose to
performance, while knowledge and know-how can be understood as emergent
properties of learning. Emergence is a term that describes something new that
results from the interaction of more simple variables within a complex
system. Goldstein describes it as 'the arising of novel and coherent
structures, patterns and properties during the process of self-organization
in complex systems'.
