[Admission] UPenn: Master of Computer and Information Technology (MCIT) NYU: Master of Science in Information Systems (MSIS) UIUC: Master of Science in Information Management UPitts: Master of Science in Information Science (MSIS) UCI: Master of Software Engineering (MSE) UMD: Master of Science in Information Systems UMD: Master of Information Management (MIM) [Rejection] UCB: Master of Information Management and Systems (MIMS) CMU: Master of Information Systems Management (MISM) (建議我申澳洲分校) UMich: Master of Science in Information (MSI) (無聲卡) Columbia: Master of Science in Computer Science UCI: Master of Computer Science (MCS) Rutgers: Master of Information (MI) [Decision] NYU:MSIS [Professional Experience] 資訊業/ 專案管理師: 8m 網路媒體/ 研究編輯: 1y 食品業/ 生產管理助理: 6m [Educational Background] B.Sc. in Agriculture Economics, NTU Overall GPA: 4.03/4.3 Honors: Top 5% student with Academic Excellence Awards*2 [Test Scores] GRE: V152/ Q170/ AWA3.5 TOEFL: 104 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- [時程規劃] 我是從2月離職後開始所有準備的，時間上算很充裕，但處理申請文件的時間比想像中多很多，SOP最後的版本是v5.0，建議大家多留一些時間修改。 3月: 選校 4-5月: GRE 6月: TOEFL 7-12月: 處理申請文件 + 聽CS核心課程的公開課打些基礎更新補充：也推薦大家要先看下面這篇，我自己最近才看到有點崩潰XDD https://medium.com/@mich.c/cssharingbych-72ba3a9c5efe [選校] 參考了很多版上跨領域申請成功的心得，也爬了USnews裡面相關領域(CS/ Business - Information Systems)的排行榜，再一間間查詢相關Program，篩選出自己能符合申請條件的清單，最後依據Program評價及私人考量訂出申請目標。 [SOP] 主要參考：倫大部落格、Evon's writing recipe、Cantab English，讀完各種教學文寫出第一版之後，請了不少朋友幫忙看，點出各種問題之後再大改。 SOP最後的段落安排如下： > Introduction: should be a roadmap that lays out what you are going to talk about in the essay. 開頭簡述抱負/未來目標 + Summary of the following paragraphs. > 2-4: describe your related experiences and demonstrate your motivation (which might align with the mission of your applied school or program). 參考Cantab English介紹的STAR寫法 > 5: You may also describe challenges/opportunities of this field to show your understanding, and connect them with your motivation. > 6-7: describe why the program can help achieve your career goal, and why you are a strong candidate (what can you contribute to this profession/program). **Every paragraph should focus around one clear thesis statement, make sure the thesis statement includes all the important points you want the readers to know. 大學時期完全沒有修過課，後來惡補了以下課程有列進CV: --Online Courses: Discrete Mathematics / Linear Algebra / Data Structure / Algorithms NCTU Computer Architecture / Operating Systems NTHU Computer Programming / Introduction to Computer NTU --Training Courses: C/C++ Programming NTU Information System Training Program Python Programming & Data Analysis ccClub (founded by NTU CSIE alumni) **大學時期主導的2個統計分析course project也有列另外也忘記提，我SOP三段相關經歷分別是寫： 1. My enthusiasm for technology was piqued when I endeavored to reduce resource waste in business and first learned to code. 在食品業協助生產管理期間，發現了一些電腦文書作業上很繁瑣又容易出錯的步驟，發現不能用函數處理之後自學VBA寫了一個簡單的巨集解決這問題。 2. 在資訊業時, I not only experienced the complete life cycle of an IT project in a practical setting but my team collaboration and management skills also strengthened.寫在公司跟的最主要的案子的專案管理經驗 3.as the first project administrator at a five-year-old IT company, I helped the manager improve our project management processes to effectively oversee an increasing number of projects. 最後寫在公司協助建立、調整專案管理系統的過程。主要是利用函數簡化公司現有專案管理文件(google sheets)，減少麻煩的行政流程

其實我滿想上stern的課耶因為之前做專案管理，對管理類的課程也滿有興趣，雖然如果以要留在美國工作的話好像應該專心修CS技術課程？可以請問大家(幾乎都)覺得該選Upenn的原因嗎><
