Finland, Joensuu Campus
in a research project studying
Role of iron and manganese in suppression of methane emissions from wetlands
and lakes
The objective of the research is to elucidate how iron and manganese in the
boreal wetland soils and lake sediments influence on production and oxidation

PhD student (ca. 1475 €/month) added with the costs for insurances. The
project has also funds for consumables, analysis costs and travels.
A successful candidate should have an MSc degree (or equivalent) e.g. in
environmental sciences, biology, limnology, microbiology or chemistry. The
candidate is expected to show motivation for research. Fluency in written and
spoken English and good cooperation skills are necessary.
