[創作] The Ghosts of Language
The apparitions of language roam the universe,
Reaching far and far beyond the Earth,
Where they weave many a verse
Bewitching the living people since birth.
Waging wars verbal and nonverbal alike
Spanning from the mysterious biblical time
To the wanton age of global warming,
These ghosts incite the civilized critters
To assail each other under four sophisticated modes:
L, S, R and W --- till the truce for further communication,
Negotiation and realization to appease these agitated souls.
Like a troop of churning parasites,
Some of the aboriginal races of specters
Are doomed to face the requiem of extinction,
As are their hosts who utter syllables
Comprehensible merely to few senile folks now.
And fossilized beneath the river of time,
The minority's phantoms slumber forever more.
