Cycles

Moths of bigotry
against all reason and sensibility
swarm to worship and swear to protect
le fleur du mal
Secreting corrupted sweetness to seduce
displaying jaded deportment to delude, le fleur
amazed at how easy it is to fool
sits contently in its mock glory
Pretending to be butterfiles cannot disguise
the violence of their blind faith
the poisonous powder spilled in their wake
determination to destroy everything in their way
The world silently (or not so silently) observes
the torch of the false glory
consuming the moths' souls, dimming,
leaving them as empty shells
until their bigotry gives birth
to a new fleur du hate
